🧡🎭🎬BHS UNIFIED THEATER PERFORMS TOMORROW:
Barrington High School Unified Theater performed “Get Real With UT!” on Friday, February 7, the BHS auditorium!
The theme of this year’s student-written, directed, and produced show is reality television, featuring scenes inspired by Real Housewives, Survivor, Dancing With The Stars, Shark Tank, America’s Got Talent, Dance Moms, and The Voice.
What a fantastic production! 🍿🎞️

February 5 is #WorldReadAloudDay which celebrates the power of storytelling and the importance of reading out loud.
Reading aloud with children builds literacy, fosters imagination, and cultivates curiosity. We are grateful for our BPS educators and families who instill a love of reading in our students! 📖

The Barrington High School girls indoor track team continued their impressive 2025 season by winning the Class B Rhode Island Interscholastic League Indoor Track & Field Class Championship on Saturday!

🎉🥇🏃♂️BHS BOYS INDOOR TRACK TEAM WINS CLASS CHAMPIONSHIP:
The Barrington High School boys indoor track team dominated the Rhode Island Interscholastic League Indoor Track & Field Class Championships on Saturday.
Our Eagles won all 14 events in their class and scored 259 points, nearly 200 points more than their closest opponent, making them Class B champs!
Congratulations, Eagles! 👏🏆🦅


🐕🦺🐾💙COMFORT DOGS SUPPORT BPS STAFF AND STUDENTS:
Thank you to our buddy K-9 Levi and local members of the Rhode Island Police Comfort/Therapy Dog Association for providing emotional support and comfort to our BPS staff and students during a difficult time for our community.
Levi, Brody, Blue, Raider, and Jovie helped make the day a little brighter at Barrington High School and Barrington Middle School last week. We are so grateful for the partnerships with local police departments, especially Coventry, Bristol. Somerset, and Tiverton, that allow us to offer this service in our schools. 🐾


⭐️🎹🏫PRIMROSE HILL SCHOOL HOSTS TOWN MEETING:
The beloved tradition of town meetings has returned to Primrose Hill Elementary School! Third graders hosted a town meeting for the PHS community, sharing their knowledge and talents with their peers and parents. Great work, Primrose pandas! 🐼


♻️👗👖BHS STUDENTS HOST GALLERY WALK:
Deeper learning happens every day inside each of our six schools. Recently, students in the fashion merchandising class at Barrington High School hosted a gallery walk featuring their upcycle clothing and accessories designs for all community members to see!


🏃♂️🏅🚦BOYS INDOOR TRACK TEAM SETS NEW RECORD:
The Barrington High School boys indoor track team set a new BHS record at the East Coast Invitational this weekend! The 4x200-meter relay team raced to a first place finish with a time of 1:31.99, just beating the previous BHS record of 1:32.50 set in 2024. 👟

🧮✖️🎲 SOWAMS SCHOOL FAMILY MATH NIGHT:
This week, Sowams School welcomed families to drop in and celebrate math!
Students and their families played ten new math games using a deck of cards or dice. They also took part in an art activity creating a Sowams community quilt using geometric shapes.

It's a Nayatt School SEL-ebration for Mrs. Brousseau! 🥳
At the beginning of the school year, we announced special educator and K-3 emotional regulation specialist, Mrs. Brousseau, as our 2024-2025 BPS Teacher of the Year. Our Nayatt community recently came together to recognize her commitment to social emotional learning and celebrate her important contributions to our district.

🕹💻🏓BHS E-SPORTS TEAM WINS CHAMPIONSHIP:
The Barrington High School E-sports team recently won the state championship E-sports title! Way to go, Eagles! 🦅


🏀👩🏫🏫HMS FIFTH GRADERS PARTICIPATE IN URI EDUCATION DAY:
Late last month, Hampden Meadows Elementary School fifth graders participated in the University of Rhode Island's annual Education Day!
Tammi Reiss, head coach of the URI women's basketball team who recently coached the successful 3x3 women's basketball team at the 2024 Paris Olympics, shared an inspiring message with students from Massachusetts and Rhode Island about work ethic, education, and sportsmanship. Students also attended an exciting URI basketball game - a win for the home team!

🥪👮♂️🐕🦺OFFICER JOEL AND K-9 LEVI VISIT LUNCH AND LEARN:
"Lunch and Learn" is an elementary school enrichment program that allows students to learn from members of our community and explore their own interests during lunch!
Third graders at Nayatt School recently learned about careers in law enforcement from our very own School Resource Officer, Officer Joel! They also had the chance to meet K-9 Levi, Barrington's community engagement dog and local celebrity.

Outside the snow is falling and friends are calling! 🎄
At Sowams School, Mrs. Adamson’s class spent a few moments outside before the start of our winter break to feel the first snowflakes of the season!


🎶🤶🎤BHS CAROLERS SPREAD HOLIDAY CHEER:
To kick off the start of winter break, Barrington High School singers caroled for students and staff at the schools across our district!
Jingle bell time was a swell time at Nayatt School, Primrose Hill Elementary School, Sowams School, Hampden Meadows Elementary School, and Barrington Middle School!
Thank you to our BHS Music Department and singers for spreading the holiday cheer!


🏥💟🧸 HMS STUDENTS PARTICIPATE IN GOOD NIGHT LIGHTS:
Hampden Meadows School students spent the last two months collecting 194 toys for children at Hasbro Childrens Hospital.
Last night, after the conclusion of their toy drive, the HMS Student Council participated in Hasbro’s “Good Night Lights” event! From outside the hospital, they wished children inside a "good night" by flashing glow sticks and flashlights.
Our students learned that they can make a difference in our community by working together and supporting others. Way to go, Hampden Meadows!


🍅🥦🎅INTERACT CLUB DONATES TO TAPIN:
The Barrington High School Interact Club raised nearly $1,400 at the BHS Homecoming Fair in October and recently donated these funds to TapIn!
Way to go, Interact Club! This donation will help TapIn provide fresh produce for our community members during the holiday season.


🎨🖌️🖼️ BHS STUDENT’S ARTWORK RECEIVES NATIONAL RECOGNITION:
Congratulations to Barrington High School student, Ajax, whose artwork was recently selected by the College Board to appear in a national art exhibition!
This year, the AP Art and Design Exhibit features the artwork of 50 students chosen from more than 80,000 who took AP 2D Design last school year. Ajax’s drawing, titled “Acceptance,” was made entirely with markers on paper and will be on display in the national art show throughout 2025.
Way to go, Ajax! 🎉👏🏻
