Weekly Update

Wednesday is “Wear a Hat for Henry Day” Students may wear a hat all day! We are doing this as a fundraiser for one of our families. The PTO has agreed to donate to this fundraiser- they are going to match the first $1000 raised. A flyer went home on Friday- I will send an electronic one tonight.  Donation is optional but we encourage all students to wear a hat to support Henry! It is also wear Pink Day.

Thursday is the first of our Family Book Club meetings at 4:00 at Primrose. This year we are partnering with Miss Lisa from the Public Library to host Caldecott-themed Family Book Club. There is no need to read the books in advanced. During the first meeting on October 24th, the librarians will discuss the Caldecott committee’s criteria for distinguished illustrations and share some contenders for the 2020 award. Families will then have the opportunity to “adopt” a Caldecott contender to share at a future meeting. We will vote in January for our favorite – let’s see if we can pick the same title as the real Caldecott committee!
