BMS Parent Learning Walk:

Dr. Anderson will be hosting several “Family Learning Walks” throughout the year to provide an opportunity for families to see Project Based Learning in action and to get a glimpse of the life of a BMS student. Our next Learning Walk is scheduled for Thursday, February 8, 2024. Register for this and other Parent Learning Walk dates on this form.  We will need to limit it to 20 parents, and it will be a first-come, first-served basis. Please note, this visit is not to your child’s classroom, but rather to see teaching and learning happening throughout the school.

Unified Theater Production:

Come support our Unified Theater as they put on their production this Friday evening, February 2, 2024, beginning at 6:00 pm. Unified Theater is an opportunity where students with all abilities work together to write, produce, and direct a play. This year’s theme is a take on various Disney-inspired adventures.

8th Grade Parents/Families Orientation at Barrington High School:

The high school is excited to welcome your child next school year.  To ensure that the transition from grade 8 to BHS goes as smoothly, the high school is hosting an orientation program for parents/families of all eighth-grade students on Monday, February 5, 2024 at 6:30 pm in the John R. Gray Auditorium at Barrington High School.  Students do not need to attend this orientation as high school counselors will meet with 8th grade students on Monday, February 5, 2024 during the school day to review the program of studies and provide course selection forms.

BMS Student Council:

The BMS Student Council is opening up a new avenue for BMS students to communicate their questions and concerns about their student experience at BMS to their student council members.  If a student has a question or concern, please have them complete this form.  Thank you.

~ BMS Spotlight on Learning ~

This week, we would like to shine our BMS Spotlight on Wrestling Coach Dave DeSisto for the dedication he has for the BMS wrestling program and the positive impact and high expectations he sets for the wrestlers on and off the mat. (Nominated by a member of our BMS Learning Community)

This week, we would like to shine our BMS Spotlight on Mrs. Amy Boyle. I am always super excited about math and social studies because I know I get to see her. She always brightens my day and inspires me. She's very funny but also is straightforward when it comes to work. (Nominated by Razz Cluster Student Olivia Kinnane)

This week, we would like to shine our BMS Spotlight on Michelle Lavin and our BMS Bands. This past week, our BMS Bands played to a packed house! Thank you Michelle for stepping in and leading the students in what was an amazing performance. In addition, we would like to shine our BMS Spotlight on Mrs. Barbara Hughes from BHS, her BHS Students, and Mrs. Armstrong for assisting backstage. It was truly a team effort!

Do you know of a BMS Faculty/Staff/Student member that is shining bright? If you do, please complete the form below and we can include the nomination in an upcoming newsletter.
