Upcoming Events:

  • Monday, December 14th is a school day for students.  The state PD day was removed the calendar when we started school later than expected.

Questions regarding classroom temperatures:

  • Parents and staff have expressed concerns about room temperatures, especially during the cold weather months.

  • The state has provided the schools with Medify Air-MA-112, hospital grade air filters.

  • The high qualifty filters allow us to close windows and doors and run the filter to provide ideal air exchanges in the classroom.

  • Distribution to all classrooms will be happening in the upcoming weeks.

  • The district is developing a protocol for use of the hepa filters.

  • On mild days, it is always best for classrooms to have a window open with a fan and the windows open across from the open doors for a sufficient amount of fresh air exchanges.

  • Medifty Air

Questions regarding updated CDC guidance on quarantine timelines:

  • The district has recently received updated guidance on quarantines from RIDOH.

  • The district Re-Entry Committee (including medical professionals) will review on Monday and communicate any changes to the expectations in the following days.

  • At this time, the CDC does feel that a 14 day quarantine is the safest response-RIDOH Playbook for Pre-K-12 Schools

Barrington Public Schools Devices:

  • Thanks so much for making “Device Day” such a huge success, the students were so excited to have chromebooks.

  • We will be sending home daily, the Kindergarten chromebooks are heavy for the little ones, make sure their backpacks can manage it.

  • Students should charge their chromebooks at home each night.  We have limited outlets at school.

  • It is important for every child to have a district issued device, please let us know if your child needs one.

  • This allows for consistency between school and home and the ability for staff to troubleshoot.
