A message from Tracey McGee

Dear Families,

Here at Hampden Meadows we are working on some everyday social skills in all aspects of the school day.  Social skills are important for children to develop. Solid social skills can help with personal relationships and eventually a professional career. There are many ways we can help kids improve their social skills. Good manners and kindness are starting points for the children here.  Many of you may have noticed the directed efforts all the teachers have put in to using please, thank you, excuse me and making eye contact with people who speak together. We are modeling and expecting these behaviors from each other and our students. We have worked on these and will continue to integrate other high level skills that require emotional intelligence throughout the year.
